Welcome, Legacy Bank & Trust Customers!
We’re excited to combine the shared values, missions, and impact of Legacy Bank & Trust with Southern Bancorp, one of America's oldest and most impactful community development banks, to help create more paths to opportunity in the communities we serve.
It's business as usual for now.
Our teams will be working closely together over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition, and until then, you shouldn't expect to see many changes in your normal banking routine. In late 2026, Legacy will begin to transition its brand and systems, expanding access to new banking and service opportunities.
Until then, it’s business as usual for you – your customer experience will remain the same, delivered by the same people you’ve come to know and trust.

About Southern Bancorp
History
In 1986, underserved communities across the Mid-South gained an economic development partner when some of the nation’s leading business, political, and philanthropic leaders formed the Southern Development Bank Corporation, now known as Southern Bancorp.
What began as a $10 million investment and a belief that paths to opportunity should be within reach of everyone, regardless of zip code, would eventually spur a movement of mission-focused institutions in communities across the country – Community Development Financial Institutions.
Today, Southern Bancorp is one of the oldest and largest CDFIs in the country, with $2.8 billion in assets, 56 locations across Arkansas and Mississippi, and a growing mortgage team serving the entire Southern region.
Both Southern Bancorp and Legacy Bank & Trust share deep roots in community banking and a strong commitment to serving people and places that traditional banks often overlook. As CDFIs, our institutions have worked tirelessly to create opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to build wealth and thrive. Bringing our teams together strengthens that mission and expands the impact we can make in your community - and that you can have by banking with us.

Community Impact

Our Stories
Economic opportunity means different things to different people. For some, it means buying a first home after long giving up on the dream of homeownership. For others, it means starting, growing, or saving a business in a community that desperately needs jobs. Others may simply want to get their financial life on track. No matter the zip code, starting point, or financial history, we’re helping our customers turn the dream of economic opportunity into reality.
