Southern Bancorp is changing its name to Uplift Bank
A new name that reflects who we've always been.
From our founding 40 years ago to today, we've always believed in being a different kind of bank. But that hasn't always been reflected in our name.
Our name should reflect our mission, our people, and our purpose - which has been focused on lifting up our customers and communities for more than 40 years.
That's why, pending final regulatory approvals, Southern Bancorp will soon be transitioning to a new name... Uplift Bank.
The Uplift Bank logo represents financial progress, empowerment, and growth. Its modern geometric symbol rises upward, symbolizing our mission to provide access to financial opportunity to all individuals, families, and communities – no matter the income level, financial position, or zip code.

Why "Uplift Bank"?
We were founded in 1986 on a belief that everyone should have access to the tools, resources, and support needed to achieve their financial goals, but that many rural and underserved communities were being left behind by the traditional financial world. Today, that mission remains our guiding principle, and we've worked alongside countless individuals, families, and businesses across our communities over the past four decades - helping create pathways to financial stability, growth, and opportunity.
The name Uplift Bank reflects that work:

When Will This Happen?
This transition will happen gradually, not all at once.
We're taking our time to ensure everything is handled smoothly - with no disruption to your experience.
- You'll begin to see the Uplift Bank name roll out on our website and social media later this year.
- Updates will continue in phases across our locations into 2027.
- There will be some overlap, so some things might say “Southern Bancorp” while others say “Uplift Bank” for a while - and that's OK.
